A generalized course on prehistoric and ancient history, dealing mainly with the period of 100,000 to 3000 BCE. However, some material will extend back millions of years or more, and topics such as the South American cultures will be more recent. The course will cover megalithic monuments, prehistoric astronomy, mythologies, art, and other aspects of prehistoric times. It will also touch on the human fossil record starting with Sahelanthropus tchadensis dated to 7 million years ago, and the importance of bipedalism in human evolution. This is a continuation of the previous session designed for both returning and new members.
