Testimonials

Thank you for another really nice Newsletter! (August 2023)

First and foremost, welcome to the new Board Members! What a PowerHouse you've got there! I can sense that a lot of group brainstorming went into the preparation of the new Fall Program - many fun possibilities and ideas!

I like the Monday Movie Matinee idea, the Museum Outings, the Book Reading - so many good things! Also, I enjoy Jane Archer's book reviews. They're very well written.

I just want to acknowledge all of you for the hard work you are volunteering to keep E.N.C.O.R.E. going! Your passion and commitment show!

with appreciation,

Patricia Manessy

I took a chance for our last winter session and tried a new course and instructor... Frances Fister-Stoga. I admit I was intrigued by the course title... All For Love.

To my delight the course has proven to be everything…. stimulating, provocative, educational. I am loving it and don’t want it to end. I am anxious to continue this meaningful voyage of discovery with Frances in future courses.                                                                                         Arlene Abramovitch

I have found the overview of Architecture in Canada most enjoyable.  With Audrey (Berner) at the helm, it was a great occasion to find out about some cities that I have not been to and even made me think about travelling to one of them.                                                        Marie Bricault

I thoroughly enjoyed the online cooking lessons with Bonnie (Hill). As a professional chef, she has taught me so much, from how to keep a clean, tidy kitchen while cooking to making memorable soups and out of this world salads. I jotted down dozens upon dozens of tips and tricks which have helped increase my confidence in the kitchen. Now, I can even wow my friends and family sometimes. I just received this e-mail below from ENCORE and thought I would forward it to you because I remember telling each of you about this organization which offers many kinds of classes for seniors. I have enjoyed several art classes in the past (given by Deanne Hall-Habeeb) and, more recently, Zsolt Alapi’s unparalleled creative writing class.

ENCORE (the acronym for Encountering the Challenges of Retirement) is located at St. Mark and DE Maisonneuve, but some of the classes are still online.

For me, taking a class at ENCORE has been a good opportunity to make new friends and learn a new thing or two. Wishing you a creative, heathy and happy year ahead!

Marie-Claire, I want to express my thanks to you and all the members of the Board for the hard work you have done this year to provide great courses and activities for us members.

The Newsletter was so beautifully done - congratulations to all who  worked on it.  It was fun to read - I loved the jokes and riddles! 😂

Thanks must go to Colette and Elida for organizing the social activities - lunches, party, wine & Cheese, etc.

A Happy New Year to all, and good health, peace and joy in 2024.

With thanks and best wishes,

Vera Burt
